For his performances Alejandro Freeland dresses in elaborated glamorous, classical, or historical costume representing and referencing different characters .

In Afterthoughts, Alejandro Freeland is dressed as the general San Martin, liberator of Argentina, Chile and Peru. He delivers an extended monologue addressing the politics of power, ecology, social justice, the distribution of wealth, the access to food, while reflecting on how these issues impact on the world

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He studied Veterinary Science at the University of Buenos Aires, graduating in 1984. He immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1990. He studied Art at the Ontario College of Art and Design, graduating in 1998 (Interdisciplinary Art Diploma). The studies included Photography, Film and Video, Drawing and Painting and Digital Art. He has exhibited Photography in Toronto and Buenos Aires and shown Video and Performance in Toronto.

Alejandro has been the Board President of the Latino Canadian Cultural Association from 2003 to 2007. In 2008 he took the role of Executive Director. He has been the Artistic Director for the LCCA Festivals of 2008 and 2009.
